Digital tools for traveling nurses
From back of the napkin to Series A funding

Healthcare is a notoriously hard industry to bring innovation to. Our small team saw an opportunity and partnered with forward-thinking leaders that helped push new ideas from the top down. When a wound doesn’t heal and gets out of hand, there is a snowball effect that drags everyone with it. The patients often become immobile, insurance can’t understand why standard solutions didn’t work, and the healthcare professionals have a more difficult time staying on top of it. The answer is traveling nurses who specialize in wound care. Their burned is heavy, from logistical challenges to extra reporting and charting, too much of their valuable time is spent on paperwork at the end of their shift, and compliance is a challenge. Our solution puts an iPad in their hands, surfaces the right information when they need it, and automates much of their paperwork with touch-controlled charting. Our demos and beta tests showed massive efficiency gains for the nurses and improved reporting compliance at the department level.
We partnered with European hospital group, Bosonix, and raised about half of our $1.7m Series A goal. While building the MVP, we engaged Bromley Health Care and Synapse MedTech, pitched Sharp Healthcare and the VA in California. Agreements in place with 4 health groups meant cutting up to 27 billion in spending. We designed a technology stack that included Pivotal Labs, EMC, and Synapse Medical and packaged this unique blend to deliver results that no one else could. Our small team of 3 worked quickly to prototype, pitch and partner with groups who could get into the field.
It all started with an animated conversation and a stack of paper and pens.
